Shiplake primary pupils connect with Ors

Year 5 pupils at Shiplake C of E Primary proudly show off their letters to children at Ors primary, the village in Nord Pas de Calais, France with which Dunsden is forging a friendship link. The pupils learnt about Ors and Wilfred Owen who was buried in Ors village cemetery in 1918. The Shiplake pupils wrote about their families, pets and hobbies and the story was featured in the Henley Standard. Pictured with the children are Dunsden Owen Association’s Beth Timms and class teacher Emily Potter. It is hoped to hold similar sessions with local pupils in the future.
