Henley Quakers Eye Witness Stories

Henley Quakers invite you to hear Eye Witness Stories from the West Bank and Israel at 7pm on Tuesday 12 November. The venue will be Henley Meeting House, 45 Northfield End, RG9 2JJ. This event is free and all are welcome.
Nick Georges who has recently returned from the West Bank and Israel will show his slides and share his experiences as a Human Rights Monitor on the Ecumenical Accompaniment Programme run by the World Council of Churches.
Human Rights Monitors are trained volunteers who come from all around the world to serve for 3 months in Palestine and Israel.
Their task is:
• to witness to life under occupation and accompany people in danger
• to support Palestinians and Israelis who are pursuing a just peace.
The vision behind the programme is a future in which Palestinians and Israelis enjoy peace with freedom, dignity and security based on international law.
Questions Nick will address include:
•What is daily life really like under the occupation?
• What is the Israeli peace movement doing?
• What can be done to promote a just peace in Israeli-occupied Palestine?
