Local composer David Breeze has completed his trilogy of Owen song settings. Beginning with ‘Deep under turfy grass’ which was written when Owen was living in Dunsden between 1912–3, he has since gone on to set ‘Song of Songs’, Owen’s first verse to be published, and finally the celebrated war poem ‘Futility’.
They will be performed at Schott Music in London on Saturday October 8. Tickets cost just £9 (£6 concessions).
Nigel Evans-Thompson (Baritone), Matthew Rickard (Piano) and Janet Davey (Piano) will perform these works together with others by David Breeze and Janet Davey.
